We had a total of 44 2YO&rsquo;s on the books. 20 of which, made it to the races providing us with 12 victories and a winning strike rate of 55%. Our 2YO&rsquo;s contributed to over $2.1 million of our total prize money for the season.

Our Star 2YO of the season was Emirates Park homebred filly, Manaal (Tassort x Red Lodge). Manaal had 6 starts for 3 wins in the Group 3 Gimcrack Stakes, Group 2 Sweet Embrace &amp; Group 1 Sires&rsquo; Produce. THREE &amp; FOUR YEAR OLDS
Our 3YO and 4YO&rsquo;s produced 34 wins &amp; 39 placings between them.

Included amongst the successes of our older horses, were the likes of Ducasse (Group 3 Carbine Club), Insurrection (Listed Canterbury Sprint), Moravia (Group 2 &amp; 3 Placed), Mumbai Muse (Group 3 Red Roses Stakes), Panic (Listed South Pacific Classic), Waikato Girl (Listed Princess Stakes) &amp; Wymark (Group 2 Tulloch Stakes).

Our most improved 3YO of the season was Wymark (Savabeel x Pasadena). The talented gelding shone throughout his last preparation, kicking off as a Maiden to progress all the way to a Group 2 winner following four back to back wins. Wymark accumulated over $350,000 in just 8 starts, and rewarded his owners and the team with a thrilling contribution to the Autumn Carnival.

Exciting 3-year-old Ducasse couldn't have been more impressive in breaking his maiden on Wednesday at Warwick Farm. While it may have taken the son of Trapeze Artist seven runs to notch up a win, Ducasse has always shown the stable good talent having been close-up in some of the feature 2-year-old events last Autumn before a narrow third in the G2 Callander-Presnell S. last preparation.&nbsp; First-up off just the one trial, Ducasse began well before being restrained by Tommy Berry to settle at the rear of the field in the running. With the leader setting a strong tempo, the promising colt was able to get into a rolling rhythm before commencing a run on the turn. Afforded a lovely ride by Berry, Ducasse was able to angle into the clear and unleash a powerful turn-of-foot to run out an impressive winner by over two lengths on the line.&nbsp; Speaking after the race, Berry was full of praise for the talented colt suggesting that he has a big preparation ahead. DUCASSE A CLASS ABOVE

Consistent 4-year-old gelding Mr Extreme was a tough winner at Kembla Grange on Saturday at his third-up run of the campaign. The lightly raced son of Extreme Choice strung together two decent efforts at his two runs back this campaign and was coming into Saturday's run with fitness on his side.&nbsp; He certainly needed that fitness edge having dictated the race from the onset when setting a strong clip in the early and middle stages. MR EXTREME STRONG TO LINE

After a luckless debut run, talented I Am Invincible filly put the writing on the wall at Kensington with an effortless maiden victory under Keagan Latham. From barrier three, Latham was positive out of the gates before landing in a prominent position to take up the running. Controlling the race from the onset, the 3-year-old filly gave a solid kick at the top of the straight before running out a comfortable winner by over two lengths on the line.&nbsp; The Belinda Bateman breed and owned filly carries an incredible pedigree which features her half-brother Russian Revolution and three-quarter brother in Home Affairs. BALLET OFF THE MARK

Talented Kiwi import Katsumoto (NZ) kept his perfect record intact on Wednesday in a Class 1 handicap at Kembla Grange. The 4-year-old son of Unusual Suspect (Jpn) arrived in our stables in November and has made a solid impression since.
Debuting at the same track a couple of weeks back, Katsumoto was an impressive runaway winner. With Tommy Berry in the saddle, Katsumoto started a heavy favourite once again and he delivered with plenty in hand. Racing keenly from the onset, Berry allowed the gelding to stride into a prominent position where he was able to settle into a more relaxed rhythm.
Showing a quick dash at the top of the straight, the MyRacehorse owned gelding was challenged with 200 metres left to run looking all but beaten. Showing fighting spirit, he dug deep and found another gear to edge out his seasoned rivals by almost a length on the end.
The MyRacehorse owned gelding is quickly putting together a solid record and looks a horse to follow for the future.

KATSUMOTO REMAINS UNDEFEATED

After an impressive debut victory, talented Snitzel colt Gelatin was a super winner second up on Wednesday at Kembla Grange. Contending with heavy conditions once again, Gelatin was afforded a lovely run under Rory Hutchings.
From barrier one, the horse jumped well but was shortly restrained to settle in fourth place on the rails. Riding for luck in the straight, Hutchings encouraged the horse through a gap which he took in brave fashion. Contending with seasoned competition, Gelatin was strong to the line running away a winner by just under a length on the line.
The $300,000 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling sale graduate is now a winner of two of his six starts and over $100,000 in earnings.

GELATIN IN FLYING FORM

It was a super start to the new year for the stable with Darby Racing&rsquo;s Insurrection adding an ever important stakes victory to his CV on New Year&rsquo;s Day. A winner of seven of his 20 starts, Insurrection was a dominant winner of the $200,000 The Warra at Kembla Grange two starts back before a narrow defeat in the Listed Razor Sharp Handicap at his last start.
With regular rider Zac Llyod in the saddle, Insurrection was out for redemption on Monday and he certainly didn&rsquo;t let his fans down. While he jumped fast, he was challenged for the lead from the onset which made Llyod make the sensible decision to avoid an unsustainable gallop and eased him just behind the leaders for most of the running.
Rounding the turn the 4-year-old was quick to pick up before letting rip with a powerful turn-of-foot to put the race away by over a length on the line. The win handed the son of Russian Revolution his first stakes victory and took his earnings beyond $829,000.

STAKES GLORY FOR INSURRECTION

Gelatin made a successful return to the races on Wednesday with a tenacious victory in a $100,000 Super Maiden event at Warwick Farm. Having always shown talent, the lightly raced son of Snitzel was having just his fifth race start following a luckless winter campaign which included strong third behind the G1 placed Tutta La Vita (The Autumn Sun) back in June.
With two trials under his belt, the leggy colt went into Wednesday&rsquo;s race in good order but the heavy conditions were the only question mark. The wintery conditions forced numerous scratchings with the field size eventually reduced to five.
In what was going to be a tactical affair, regular rider Rory Hutchings had the horse begin well before settling just behind the leading pair. Always travelling well, Gelatin gave a solid kick at the top of the straight before being challenged by the race favourite in Dimitrov (I Am Invincible). In true fighting spirit, Gelatin lifted himself again to edge out his rival by a head on the line.&nbsp; &nbsp;
The attractive colt was a $300,000 purchase from the Baramul Stud draft at this year&rsquo;s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling sale. GELATIN SHOWS FIGHT

It was a super return to the races for the ever consistent Time To Boogie who raced away with a decisive victory at Randwick on Saturday. With regular partner Rachel King in the saddle, Time To Boogie was quick into stride before settling just outside the leader where he remained for the first part of the race. Always appearing comfortable in the run, Time To Boogie quickly let down to put pay to the leader before running out an easy winner by over two lengths.&nbsp;Speaking after the race, Michael was quick to point out the horse's improvement in a short period of time stating that he "pegged him more as a midweek or provincial class horse but in the last six months he has really gone to a new level". It was the lightly raced 4-year-old's fourth career victory and his second at metropolitan level. From just 12 starts, he has accumulated earnings north of $300,000 and based on Saturday's effort it appears that figure is set to rise. BOOGIE DANCES TO VICTORY

Absorb the pressure he did! Exciting New Zealand acquisition Katsumoto (NZ) was brilliant on debut scoring an effortless victory at Kembla Grange on Thursday. Joining the stable in November, the unraced 4-year-old indicated he is a horse with talent at home before putting in a superb performance at his first Australian trial under his former name 'Admit'. With Tommy Berry keen to stay aboard after his promising trial, the untapped gelding found himself in a suitable Maiden contest over 1200 metres to kick-start his career.&nbsp;Jumping on terms, Berry allowed the gelding to stride into a forward position to land on the fence before being eyeballed shortly thereafter. Mindful of holding the rails run, Berry had no choice but to increase the tempo which made it a strong gallop from the onset. Contending with a strong headwind, Katsumoto only required a gentle reminder from Berry on straightening to put in a solid kick and retain the race by almost a length on the line. The promising gelding is by Letham Stud's G1 Hollywood Turf Cup winner Unusual Suspect (USA) and is the only named foal from the unraced Pins mare Yo Yo (NZ).&nbsp;It was a great thrill to notch up our first winner for MyRacehorse who have been great supporters of our stable to date. KATSUMOTO ONE TO WATCH

It was an exciting day for the team on Wednesday with young Snitzel colt Highness claiming top honours in the RL Magic Millions Wyong 2YO Classic. With $200,000 up for grabs, it was the feature event on the program with the winner guaranteed a slot in the $3,000,000 feature on the Gold Coast next month.&nbsp; A luckless sixth at his debut run in the G3 Breeders Plate, Highness was then sent for a spell before returning with a solid Newcastle trial last week in preparation for Wednesday's feature. It was well documented that the horse wasn't entirely screwed down for his first-up assignment but the James Harron colt confirmed his class with a spectacular showing.&nbsp; A relaxed customer, Highness began on terms before finding the rails to settle third in running behind the leading pair. With the odds on favourite Spywire looking home and hosed at the top of the straight, Highness had some four lengths to make up over the short straight of Wyong. Under the urgings of Tommy Berry the valuable colt picked up quickly and surged to the line a runaway winner on the line. The well-related colt joins subsequent Golden Slipper winners and current Hunter Valley sires Farnan and Capitalist as past winners of the feature 2YO event.&nbsp; A $900,000 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling sale graduate of the Segenhoe Stud draft, Highness is from the unraced Diana's Star (Northern Meteor) who is a half-sister to 5-time Group 1 winner and Horse Of The Year, Dissident. A $26 chance prior to Wednesday's victory, Highness has firmed into $7.50 to take out January's Magic Millions 2YO Classic on the Gold Coast on January 13. HIGHNESS KING OF WYONG

Talented Exceed and Excel colt House Of Cards put in a super performance to knock off his maiden tag over the weekend. Sporting the famous Vinery Stud silks, House Of Cards was making his third run of his career and first run for the campaign with Rory Hutchings in the saddle. A promising debut run at Kensington over the winter, House Of Cards backed that up with a closing fourth at Kembla Grange at his next start.&nbsp; Sent for a spell shortly thereafter, House Of Cards has returned a more furnished product this time around. Jumping from barrier three, House Of Cards jumped on terms before settling in the second half of the field. HOUSE OF CARDS IMPRESSES

It was an easy watch for Insurrection fans on Saturday as he careered away in Kembla Grange's feature sprinting event of the season in the $300,000 'The Warra'. While the heavy conditions seemed less than ideal on paper, a textbook ride from Zac Llyod allowed the speedster to find the best ground and prove far too strong for his rivals. Second-up from a spell, the son of Russian Revolution was sent off a drifting $6 chance in the feature sprint event.&nbsp; Using his customary gate speed, Insurrection was able to dictate proceedings from the front without expending too much energy to do so. In search for better ground, Llyod guided the gelding towards the middle part of the track on straightening before asking for his final effort. With 55kg on his back, the talented galloper let down with a powerful turn-of-foot leaving his rivals to dust when running out a two-length winner on the line.&nbsp; A $150,000 Inglis Classic Yearling purchase by his Darby Racing connections, Insurrection has been an incredible money spinner for his owners having accumulated over $680,000 in prizemoney to date. INSURRECTION CLAIMS THE WARRA

Lightly raced 3-year-old colt Turbulent put in a super effort first-up to break his maiden at Newcastle on Tuesday.&nbsp; Having had four starts in his juvenile season, Turbulent clearly appreciated a late winter spell to return a more furnished individual this time around. Under the guidance of Rory Hutchings, Turbulent settled in the rear half of the field where he travelled strongly before peeling to the outside on straightening to make his run. While showing some signs of greenness, the 3-year-old colt let down with a solid turn-of-foot to secure the race by the narrowest of margins on the line. With racing experience and confidence derived from the win, Turbulent looks a progressive horse to follow.&nbsp; Turbulent was a $560,000 purchase from last year's Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale and is raced by a large group of loyal clients. TURBULENT FLIES FRESH

The stable added a fourth Super Maiden contest to the mantle with Waikato Girl (NZ) (Savabeel) an impressive winner of the $100,000 Precise Air Handicap at Rosehill on Wednesday. The current leading trainer for total winners in the $6.5 million Super Maiden series, the stable maintains an incredible 50 per cent winning strike rate when competing in eligible races. It was the well-related daughter of Savabeel's second career start following an eye-catching debut at Kembla Grange last month. While she was well-fancied in the market, the step up to metropolitan grade was the obvious question mark but her performance indicated she is a filly with well-above average ability.&nbsp; With Jason Collett in the saddle, Waikato Girl began well before being allowed to ease back and settle at the rear of the field. The tempo of the race wasn't overly strong early but Collett didn't panic and allowed the filly to find a comfortable rhythm to remain within striking distance of the leading division. Afforded plenty of room on straightening, Collett allowed her to find her feet before letting down with an electric turn-of-foot to put the race away by over a length on the line.&nbsp; She was a $600,000 Karaka Yearling Sale purchase by Mick Wallace from Sir Peter Vela's Pencarrow Stud whom remains in the ownership. Sporting the Gandharvi silks, Waikato Girl is from the Group 1 performed Galileo mare Scintillula (Ire) who has had four to race for as many winners including the talented G2 performer Butter Chicken (Savabeel). A single winner during the Melbourne Cup carnival is hard to come by let alone dual stakes glory. Fresh off Queen Of The Ball's dominant victory in the G3 Furphy Sprint on Derby Day, stablemate Mumbai Muse put in an electric performance to hand our small stable a second stakes victory&nbsp;for the carnival.&nbsp; Breaking her maiden in the Listed Brian Crowley Stakes against the males last time out, Thursday's victory handed the talented filly her second stakes win in as many starts. Mixing it with some of the best credentialed 3-year-old fillies in all five starts to date, Mumbai Muse went into Thursday's G3 Red Roses Stakes with strong form lines and confidence to boot. While it was the daughter of Zoustar's first attempt at the Flemington straight, she handled the occasion with composure like the ultimate professional that she is. Drawing the outside barrier was initially concerning but as the day proceeded it was clear that the stand side rail was slightly advantageous. Settling further back than her usual running pattern, Tommy Berry was able to find cover and get her into a relaxed rhythm. Approaching the 300m mark she was asked for an effort&nbsp; and responded immediately letting down with a powerful sprint to run out a dominant winner.&nbsp; Sporting the Woppitt Bloodstock silks, Mumbai Muse is raced in partnership with Kia Ora Stud, Craig Pickford and breeder Robert McClure. More Stakes Glory For Mumbai

The lightly raced Panic (NZ) redeemed his last start defeat as a heavy favourite with a thrilling victory at Newcastle. Dropping back to Class 1 conditions proved a winning move for the Time Test gelding who had been racing well in stronger grade in both previous runs. Under Keagan Latham, Panic landed a lovely spot in transit before peeling off half-way up the straight to secure the win in the final bounds.&nbsp; With just four starts under his belt, the gelding is sure to improve with racing and looks one to follow as he progresses through the grades. A winner on debut, has has shown that he has well above average ability with a solid third in a strong midweek BM64 event at Kensington two starts back. Panic Lands Thriller

Multiple Group winner Queen Of The Ball was dominant in adding a fourth stakes victory to her CV on Saturday when taking out the G3 Furphy Sprint at Flemington.&nbsp;With form around Sunshine In Paris and Magic Time, Queen Of The Ball was coming into Saturday's race with superior form lines. Winless in seven starts prior, carrying top weight and drawing the outside gate had some wary but the mare proved her class with a dominant win to take her career earnings beyond $700,000. Jumping from the outside stall, she was afforded a lovely ride by veteran Damien Oliver who found cover immediately. Settling in the rear half of the field was unusual for the mare who usually is poised on the speed but it proved the winning move.&nbsp;The daughter of I Am Invincible showed a clear dash passing the 400 meters and continued a strong surge to put her rivals away by over a length on the line.&nbsp; It was the valuable mare's fourth stakes success in her 15 start career which includes dual Group success as a juvenile, a G3 Champagne Stakes as a 3-year-old and now further black-type success as a 4-year-old. Queen Reigns Superior

It is hard to believe Mumbai Muse was a maiden prior to Saturday's dominant victory in the $200,000 Listed ATC Sir Brian Crowley Stakes (1200m) at Randwick. Having competed only in stakes events in all five career starts prior to Saturday, Mumbai Muse went into Saturday with very strong credentials. With form around Australia's best 3-year-old fillies including Tiz Invincible and Kimochi, unsurprisingly she started a $3.20 favourite to break her maiden.&nbsp; Guided by Tommy Berry, the daughter of Zoustar landed one off the fence in the second half of the field where she travelled strongly throughout. While she wasn't afforded clear running until around the 300m mark, the talented filly showed exceptional acceleration to put her rivals away by over a length on the line.&nbsp;&nbsp; A $525,000 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale purchase, Mumbai Muse is one of four stakes performers from the Fastnet Rock mare Mumbai Rock. Mumbai Breaks Maiden In Style

Parisian Rose made a perfect start to her career on Saturday with an eye-catching win in the $60,000 Super Maiden on the Newcastle card. Following two impressive trials, the 3-year-old filly was primed to make an impression on debut and she certainly lived up to expectations.&nbsp; 
<div>Settling in behind the leading division, the Pariah filly was allowed to find her feet before making up considerable ground&nbsp; on straightening to land the victory by close to a length on the line. While she ran out an easy winner, she will certainly be better for the race experience and up over slightly further.&nbsp; </div>
<div>Bred and retained by loyal client Belinda Bateman, the filly is from the well-related mare Rose Of Cimmaron which makes her a half-sister to sire Bull Point and closely related to valuable fillies Najoom, Charm Stone and Najmaty.&nbsp; </div>

Lightly raced Justify filly Just Gisella notched up her second victory at just her fifth career start in a F&amp;M Class 1 Handicap at Newcastle on Tuesday. The progressive 3-year-old was afforded a super ride by Keagan Latham who had her in a perfect position mid running before peeling out and making a quick dash at the top of the straight to run out a relatively easy winner on the line.&nbsp; The filly has always shown good ability having competed in the G3 Gimcrack S. as a 2-year-old before breaking through almost a year later at just her second career start in a Hawkesbury Maiden. Queen's Winning Streak Continues

It was a fairy tale start to the juvenile season on Saturday with Manaal (Tassort) victorious in the G3 Gimcrack S. at Randwick.&nbsp; It was an emotional day all round with the filly's sire Tassort who is part-owned by Emirates Park notching up a stakes winner from his first ever runner. It was also a welcome back to Tommy Berry who was undertaking his first day back in the saddle after a lengthy stint on the side-lines.&nbsp; It was a display of class and professionalism from the Emirates Park born and bred filly who was an encouraging third at her only trial just two weeks prior. Jumping from barrier three, Berry found a lovely spot in transit on the tractable filly before asking her to pick up in between runners on straightening. Racing like a seasoned performer, the well-bred daughter of imported Midshipman (USA) mare Red Lodge (USA) fought hard to the line to edge out her rivals by a nose on the line.&nbsp; The well-related filly now heads to the paddock for a well-deserved break in preparation for some of the country's feature Autumn juvenile events. Gimcrack Success for Manaal

It'sacircus managed a perfect career start on Saturday with the 3-year-old posting an impressive debut victory at Kembla Grange. With Keagan Latham in the saddle, the son of Trapeze Artist jumped from gate three and found a nice spot in the leading division. The scopey gelding loomed in the straight and while he took some time to wind up, once he hit top gear he surged late to break his maiden by half-a-length on the line. The gelding will almost certainly be suited over further and in time looks to be a nice prospect for his connections over the middle distance trips.&nbsp;The debutant was a $230,000 Inglis Classic Purchase and is raced in the silks of Ozzie Kheir along with a group of loyal stable clients. Lightly raced 5-year-old gelding Giancarlo made a winning return to the races on Saturday with an impressive victory at Newcastle. At just his third career start, the son of Pierro settled towards the rear end of the field before letting down with an impressive turn-of-foot under Keagan Latham.&nbsp; The win came at a less than ideal distance of 1250m so there is almost certainly plenty of improvement to come as he progresses throughout the preparation. Break-through for Giancarlo

Time Test 3-year-old Panic put his hand up as one to follow with a strong debut win at Nowra on Sunday. Firming to $1.50 upon start time, Panic had his fair share of supporters and well and truly lived up to the hype. From a soft draw in barrier two, Rory Hutchings allowed the gelding to stride forward and settle in the leading division.&nbsp; He gave a strong kick on straightening to eventually run out close to a length-and-a-half winner on the line. Panic impresses on debut

<h2 class="my-20">Smart three-year-old Pushy remains unbeaten after three starts following an easy victory at Newcastle on Friday for trainer Michael Freedman.</h2>

A son of Little Avondale Stud stallion Time Test, Pushy was sent out a $1.80 favourite and gave his supporters little cause for concern as he romped to a near four-length victory in the Benchmark 68 Handicap (1600m) under Jason Collett.
Bigger things are now in-store for Pushy and Freedman has a lot of faith that the horse will continue to improve, with plenty of options should he stretch out over more ground.
&ldquo;The point of the exercise today was to give him a try at the mile and see how he coped with it,&rdquo; Freedman said.
&ldquo;He certainly looked good over it and looked as though he would enjoy getting over even further which is great because it gives us a few more options going forward.
&ldquo;So long as he pulls up okay, we will probably head towards a race like the Dulcify (Listed, 1600m) at Randwick in two weeks&rsquo; time and if he is holding good form we could look at maybe the Gloaming Stakes (Gr.3, 1800m) and Spring Champion Stakes (Gr.1, 2000m).&rdquo;
Pushy has stepped through his grades nicely, winning on debut at Kembla Grange over 1200m and then again at Newcastle over 1400m prior to Friday&rsquo;s success.
&ldquo;He is not a very obvious horse. He is so laid-back and he is obviously gelded now but he is just the quietest and most gentle horse to work with,&rdquo; Freedman said.
&ldquo;He really doesn&rsquo;t set the world on fire at home in any shape or form. It is only really when he comes out of the gates that you start to get a bit of an idea of the ability that he has got.
&ldquo;I think with these young staying horses, I love the idea of taking them quietly through their grades on nice big tracks around the provincial circuits before we look to try and throw him in at the deep end.
&ldquo;There is so much time with those horses in terms of getting them in good races in town, but I don&rsquo;t feel there is any need to put them in the pressure cooker too early. He has had one run at Kembla and two nice runs on a big track like Newcastle and he has probably now laid the foundation to come back to better quality races in the city.&rdquo;
Bred by Stephanie Hole, breeder of Gr.1 VRC Derby (2500m) winner Manzoice, Pushy was purchased by Michael Wallace for $60,000 as a yearling at Karaka from the draft of Wentwood Grange.
By Time Test, an impeccably-bred Group Two winning son of Dubawi, Pushy is out of the Anabaa mare Angel Child, who won four races up to 2100m. A half-brother to the Tony Gollan-trained Kronenbourg, who has won on four occasions, it is the family of Group Two winner Soleil Rouge and Group One winning Hong Kong sprinter All Thrills Too.
With Freedman not in attendance at Karaka that year he relied on the eyes of Wallace, with whom he has had a long-standing relationship.
&ldquo;Michael did the book and not that we were shopping for anything in particular, but I said if you see some good types by stallions we can tolerate, put them forward,&rdquo; Freedman said.
&ldquo;He happily put that horse forward and I looked at his videos online and we had him vetted and bought him for what we thought was a pretty nice price.
&ldquo;We bought another Time Test at the same sale that Michael also liked that is having his first start here on the weekend called Panic. He is entered for Newcastle tomorrow (Saturday) but he will probably wait until Nowra on Sunday and run in a $50,000 Super Maiden.

Stakes options for unbeaten Pushy

Talented four-year-old gelding&nbsp;Bunker Hut (NZ)&nbsp;(Savabeel) provided his new connections with a dream start when he powered to a first-up victory at Rosehill on Saturday.
The son of Savabeel was making his first appearance since he was successful at Warwick Farm in June, but with the benefit of a recent trial he was presented in prime order for the Midway Handicap over 1200m by trainer Michael Freedman.
The Waikato Stud-bred and sold Bunker Hut camped in behind the pace and, once into the clear 250m from home, he lengthened stride strongly for rider Tyler Schiller to overpower his rivals.
&ldquo;It&rsquo;s a good early return for Darby Syndications who have just purchased the horse online. He&rsquo;s a nice horse and I think he&rsquo;s still got a bit of improvement in him,&rdquo; Schiller said.
Bunker Hut was originally raced by a China Horse Club and Newgate Farm syndicate, having been sold at the Easter Yearling Sale, where he was offered by Sledmere Stud on behalf of Waikato Stud, for A$520,000.
Bunker Hut posted two wins and four placings from 10 appearances before he was secured by Darby Racing for A$155,000 online.
&ldquo;It&rsquo;s great for Darby Racing. He was one of those horses that didn&rsquo;t fit the profile for Henry Field and his crew in terms of a stallion prospect, so when he went on the market I had a chat to Scott (Darby) and said that it would be a good opportunity to get some new owners involved and they wouldn&rsquo;t have to wait long to get to the races,&rdquo; Freedman said.
&ldquo;It is terrific that he has been able to step out for them first time and put a win on the board and I think there&rsquo;s a bit more in him. I&rsquo;ve always felt he was a genuine Saturday class horse.&rdquo;
&ldquo;How far he can get remains to be seen but I think he has certainly got a few more BenchMark points in him.&rdquo;
Bunker Hut is out of the Pins mare Pretty (NZ) and is a half-brother to stakes winners Bonny O&rsquo;Reilly (NZ) (O&rsquo;Reilly) and Pretty To Sea and to the dam of Group One winner Espiona.

Sent out a $4.40 chance on the third line of betting, Brett Prebble allowed the filly to gain her rhythm in behind the leading division where she travelled comfortably throughout. Circling the leaders, Just Gisella let down immediately with a strong burst of speed to take control of the race from the top of the straight. Promising 3-year-old Pushy (NZ) made a perfect start to his career on Saturday with a convincing maiden victory at Kembla Grange. While the 1200m may have been short of his ideal trip, the son of Time Test (GB) made light work of his rivals and confirmed he is a horse with a bright future.&nbsp; Jumping from an awkward draw, Rory Hutchings elected to restrain the debutant to settle in behind runners. Travelling strongly in the running, the New Zealand import ambled to the turn full of running before weaving a path through runners like a seasoned performer. Darby Racing's Insurrection continued his exceptional winter campaign on Saturday when notching up yet another win at his home track to make it three wins on the bounce.&nbsp; Young gun Zac Llyod afforded the horse yet another textbook ride and in doing so became Sydney's Champion Apprentice for season 2022/23. Jumping from yet another wide barrier, Llyod allowed the horse to use his natural early speed to cross the field and take up the running under his own steam. Challenged early in the straight, the 3-year-old gelding showed his typical fight to fend of his rivals and secure the win by just over a length.&nbsp; Speaking after the race, Michael was full of praise for the gutsy galloper claiming&nbsp;&ldquo;he's every trainers dream this little horse&rdquo;. While it was over a distance short of his best, Picko Rocks was dominant in breaking his maiden on Thursday at Kembla Grange. The lightly raced 3-year-old son of Pierro was returning from a well-deserved spell following&nbsp;a consistent first-campaign where he featured in the placings on four occasions. From the wide draw, Mitchell Bell elected to ease him into the second-half of the field and capitalise on the fast early tempo set by the leaders. With some seven lengths to make up on straightening, Picko Rocks was able to quicken and run over the top of them to score by half-a-length on the line. Picko Rocks on the board

Darby Racing's winning streak continued on Wednesday with their debutant Undivided landing the opening event on the card at Warwick Farm.&nbsp; With four trials under his belt, Undivided was sent to the races fine tuned for a solid first-up performance. Sent around a $7 chance, the son of Rubick landed in a perfect spot in running just behind the leaders. Afforded a textbook ride by Tom Sherry, the 2-year-old gelding utilised his powerful turn-of-foot to take a rails run and tackle the line with confidence.&nbsp; Speaking after the race, Sherry was full of praise for the debutant citing that he "did a lot of things right for a horse having his first start". Sherry added, &ldquo;he accelerated through that gap on the rail and was coasting when he hit the front, but I felt I had a lot more horse left.&rdquo;&nbsp; As long-term loyal supporters of our stable, we are thrilled to see Darby Racing enjoying exceptional&nbsp;results on the track. Raced by the in-form Darby Racing team, Time To Boogie demonstrated a brilliant showcase of sustained speed when he ran out an impressive all the way winner at his home track.&nbsp; </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">Under the guidance of Rachel King, Time To Boogie utilised his lightening gate speed which allowed him to control the race from the onset. While Saturday's contest was a significant rise in class from his last-start romp at Gosford in Class 1 company, Time To Boogie demonstrated he is a genuine Saturday galloper with plenty more to come.&nbsp; </div>

Time To Boogie rises to the challenge

<div style="text-align: justify;">Darby Racing's&nbsp;consistent 3-year-old Insurrection made it back-to-back wins with an impressive display at his home track on Saturday. The Russian Revolution gelding was assigned top weight of 61kg following his brilliant victory under the same conditions just two weeks prior. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">Starting from the outside barrier, capable apprentice Zac Lloyd showed no signs of worry when the speedy gelding was caught wide in the early stages of the race. Allowing the horse to stay within a sustainable rhythm, Lloyd was able to edge his way across the field and take a sit on the leaders girth. Utilising his customary turn-of-foot, Insurrection kicked at the top of the straight and sustained his speed to take the win by just under a length on the line.&nbsp;</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">Following the race Llyod was complimentary of the horse's performance stating he was exceptionally strong across the line. The win certainly turned the heads of others with the horse gaining a special mention in Racing NSW's horses-to-follow segment.&nbsp; </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">The lightly raced galloper is now a four-time winner with over $400,000 in earnings from just 15 career starts. Insurrection in flying form

The $1million Group 1 ATC Randwick Guineas (1600m) on Saturday featured a big field of up and coming colts along with Victoria Derby winner Manzoice, but it was progressive gelding Communist that took the quantum leap to victory crediting his sire Russian Revolution and dam sire Northern Meteor with their first Group I winner.
Trained by Michael Freedman, Communist sprang an upset win in the Guineas, surging home for Zac Purton at his third run back from a spell to win by more than a length over two more up and comers in Linderman (Lonhro) and Zou Tiger (Zoustar).

&ldquo;He hasn't been the easiest horse so far he's been a bit quirky, but I think he's got a bit of a future,&rdquo; said Michael Freedman.
&ldquo;He's been a bit of a problem child for a while, but I'd had a lot of faith in his ability. His work on Monday at Hawkesbury was first class.
&ldquo;I think maybe just having Zac here, not too many preconceived ideas. &nbsp;We just said 'ride him how you feel he's traveling.' He is a better chaser, I've always felt that there's this sort of run in him."
The Group I ATC Doncaster Handicap may be an option for Communist.
&ldquo;I think you'd have a think about it. There's probably a lot of options to have a look at, he could be a lightweight Doncaster horse. His record at the mile here at Randwick is second to none,&rdquo; Freedman said.
&ldquo;He ran a narrow placing in the Dulcify and a narrow placing behind Golden Mile in the big race (Callander Presnell) in the spring. I think he's got a pretty good future."

The Michael Freedman-trained Madeira Sunrise (I Am Invincible) put in an impressive debut performance when winning the Lonhro Plate (Listed, 1000m) at Randwick last Saturday.
While stablemate Mexico (Capitalist) was withdrawn at the barriers, the juvenile filly jumped well,&nbsp;but was a little keen under jockey James McDonald in the early stages of the 1000-metre contest.
Challenging strongly for the lead at the 200-metre marker, the daughter of I Am Invincible (Invincible Spirit) kept on well under pressure to readily hold off the challenge of favourite The Sicilian (I Am Invincible) by a half-length with a further length back to Portorosa (Not A Single Doubt) in third.
&ldquo;She&rsquo;s a pretty green filly, she&rsquo;s probably got plenty of upside,&rdquo; McDonald said.&nbsp;
&ldquo;She just wanted to overdo it a fraction when the speed came back out of the race. She was strong. She had to out&ndash;tough a horse and she did a good job.&rdquo;
Freedman was eyeing up either the Reisling Stakes (Gr 2, 1200m) on March 4 or the Sweet Embrace Stakes (Gr 2, 1200m) on February 25, both back at Randwick, for the filly following her victory.
&ldquo;She&rsquo;s quite progressive and both her trials at Warwick farm [second and third] were good trials without really being asked to do too much &ndash; I think there&rsquo;s a bit of improvement to come,&rdquo; Freedman said.
&ldquo;If she comes through today we can look at one of the good fillies races coming up. Whether it&rsquo;s the Reisling or the Sweet Embrace.&rdquo;

February 8, 2023 The stars continue to align for May&rsquo;s 2023 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale with confirmation that triple Group One winner Forbidden Love will go under the hammer on the Gold Coast. Earlier this week it was announced that outstanding sprinting mare Snapdancer was an early confirmed entry for the Southern Hemisphere&rsquo;s leading breeding stock sale and now another of the country&rsquo;s best multiple Group One winners will join her. The daughter of All Too Hard will return to the sale ring she graced as a yearling to prepare for the next step of her career as a broodmare. Forbidden Love was a star on the track &ndash; a debut win,&nbsp;three wins at racing&rsquo;s elite level, three other black type feature victories and over $2.2 million in earnings. Across her career Forbidden Love met and defeated many of the country&rsquo;s best sprinters and milers and established herself as one of the finest of her generation. Forbidden Love Latest Star Confirmed for National Sale

After what appeared to be a disappointing first-up run in Saturday's Expressway Stakes, it was soon revealed that star mare Forbidden Love suffered an injury to her fetlock and has subsequently been retired from racing. Group 1 Star Retires

A two-time Group winner last season at two, quality I Am Invincible filly Queen of the Ball franked the strong form of the recent Group III ATC Silver Shadow Stakes when scoring a sizzling front running victory in the Group III MVRC Scarborough Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on Friday night. 
The Michael Freedman trained filly resumed from a spell in the Silver Shadow finishing fourth behind Zougotcha, In Secret and North Star Lass, with all three of those fillies coming out to win Group races at their next start.
Given that formline, Queen of the Ball always looked well placed in this assignment and was ridden a heady race by Blake Shinn, crossing quickly to the fence to take up the lead and controlling the race throughout.
She sped clear to win by more than a length over last start stakes-winner Troach taking her overall record to three wins from seven starts with prizemoney topping $420,000. 
&ldquo;She&rsquo;s a really talented filly, high speed, tenacious, ran in the Slipper and trained on at three which is great to see,&rdquo; said Blake Shinn.
&ldquo;We owned the race from the start, used her speed and once I got control of the front I knew she&rsquo;d be hard to run down.
&ldquo;She has a good fighting spirit and was strong at 1200m. Who knows where she might end up, Michael (Freedman) might go to a Coolmore with her or might aim a little bit lower, but I think she is a filly of high quality.&rdquo;
A homebred for Sir Owen Glenn&rsquo;s Go Bloodstock that was foaled and raised at Newgate Farm, Queen of the Ball is the first foal from stakes-winning Fastnet Rock mare Miss Debutante, who was also raced by Go Bloodstock and was bought as a yearling from the Kia Ora draft at Inglis Easter in 2015 for $430,000. Miss Debutante is from imported Group II winning More Than Ready mare More than Real (USA), whose dam and grand-dam are also stakes-winners, so Queen of the Ball has a Black Type direct female lineage to be proud of. Miss Debutante has a two year-old filly by Zoustar that was sold at Magic Millions for $620,000 to Gai Waterhouse &amp; Adrian Bott/Kestrel Thoroughbreds, She has been named Platinum Jubilee and won her first barrier trial at the official trials at Randwick on Monday.
Miss Debutante has a yearling filly by Written Tycoon and is due to foal to Flying Artie.
Queen of the Ball is the third Australian stakes-winner of the new season for Yarraman Park&rsquo;s reigning champion sire I Am Invincible, who has the favourite In Secret in the $1million Group I ATC Golden Rose on Saturday.

Raw Freedman-trained juvenile to aim up at Life Members Stakes at Eagle Farm with view to spring targets
Bell River Thoroughbreds&rsquo; Ferguson family are no strangers to racing quality fillies&nbsp;and they hope they have another one on their hands in the form of Resistible (Snitzel), a dominant first-start winner at Newcastle earlier this month.
A daughter of Snitzel (Redoute&rsquo;s Choice), she was purchased for $270,000 at last year&rsquo;s Magic Millions Yearling Sale &ndash; an auction at which Arrowfield&rsquo;s champion sire averaged $453,556 while averaging $460,569 for the year &ndash; and James Ferguson believes Resistible has already ensured she has maintained her value with an important juvenile victory. <img class="attachment-1000x600 size-1000x600 wp-post-image" src="https://www.anzbloodstocknews.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Resistible-714x600.png" alt="" />
 And if the Michael Freedman-trained&nbsp;two-year-old&nbsp;&ndash; a Gerry Harvey-bred half-sister Western Australian stakes winners Rebel King (Universal Ruler) and Rebelson (Snippetson) &ndash; can snare some black type in Saturday&rsquo;s Tattersall&rsquo;s Life Members Stakes (Listed, 1400m) at Eagle Farm,&nbsp;Bell River will have another highly commercial prospect to add to their boutique broodmare band in years to come.
First, though, is Resistible&rsquo;s racetrack career, which Ferguson hopes can reach far greater heights than her impressive Newcastle maiden victory in&nbsp;the Australian Bloodstock Maiden Handicap (1200m).
In that race she crossed&nbsp;from the outside barrier, being challenged before responding to score&nbsp;a&nbsp;two and a quarter lengths&nbsp;victory.&nbsp;
&ldquo;When we sent her away from the farm after a spell we thought if she got to the races that&rsquo;d be great,&nbsp;but if not, so be it, because she&rsquo;s quite an immature and raw filly,&rdquo; Ferguson told ANZ Bloodstock News yesterday.&nbsp;
&ldquo;What she did last week was all on natural ability, which is pretty exciting, because she&rsquo;s not exactly bred to be a two-year-old, she&rsquo;s got the pedigree to get over a mile and 2000 metres.&nbsp;
&ldquo;Physically, she&rsquo;s more of a three-year-old, so to get a win on the board at two with her pedigree, the job&rsquo;s done now and it&rsquo;s justified what we are trying to achieve by buying fillies or breeding fillies to keep and race.&rdquo;
While there is little doubt about Resistible&rsquo;s promise, Ferguson is not getting ahead of himself.
&ldquo;If she happened to run top four on Saturday, it&rsquo;s job done from a pedigree point of view, and it would also make things easier in terms of what races we target and what races we could get into in the spring,&rdquo; he said.
&ldquo;For three-year-old fillies over a mile and 2000 metres there&rsquo;s plenty of options that would be right up her alley. We only won at Newcastle last week, but it is nice to be involved with her and it&rsquo;s exciting at the same time.&rdquo;&nbsp;
Bell River Thoroughbreds, after a brief hiatus from running a thoroughbred farm, relaunched at Dungog in the Lower Hunter Valley of NSW about four years ago. Since&nbsp;then,&nbsp;the Fergusons have acquired a small but enviable broodmare band, headlined by 2020&rsquo;s&nbsp;The Galaxy (Gr 1, 1100m) winner I Am Excited (Snitzel) and fellow stakes-winning mares Prophet&rsquo;s Thumb (I Am Invincible) and More Prophets (Smart Missile).
James&nbsp;Ferguson, along with his brother Jock and their father Andrew, are a feature at most yearling sales and are constantly on the lookout for potential fillies to buy, and the Snitzel filly out of the unraced Rebel Sister (Falbrav) at the 2021 Magic Millions sale was one who caught their attention.&nbsp;
Eighteen months on, they are more than comfortable with their decision to buy her from Harvey&rsquo;s Baramul Stud for $270,000.
&ldquo;We always do our research and look at the sales and we don&rsquo;t always find something, but we do our research, do our work and when the opportunity presents itself then we&rsquo;ll grab it and she was one that was,&rdquo; he said.
&ldquo;She is a big, raw filly and she is quite big for a Snitzel, too, but mechanically everything was there. There&rsquo;s a lot of water to go under the bridge, but for what we paid for her with the pedigree that she&rsquo;s got, she&rsquo;s well and truly paid for herself now.&nbsp;
&ldquo;Eventually, she&rsquo;ll join the broodmare herd as a winning Snitzel two-year-old half to two stakes winners out of a half-sister to&nbsp;[six-time Group 1 winner]&nbsp;Black Heart Bart.&rdquo;
Having sold a pinhooked Extreme Choice (Not A Single Doubt) colt for $775,000 at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale in February,&nbsp;and a homebred filly by the same sire at the Inglis May Sale for $300,000, Ferguson is delighted with the way Bell River Thoroughbreds is developing.
&ldquo;It is a long way from Wellington when I was a kid,&nbsp;when mum and dad started out breeding horses,&rdquo; he reflected.&nbsp;
&ldquo;We&rsquo;ve only been back four years building it up. We&rsquo;re not going to change anything, we&rsquo;re going to keep doing what we&rsquo;re doing because that seems to be what is working. What&nbsp;[mum]&nbsp;Georgie and&nbsp;[dad]&nbsp;Ferg built in ten years, we&rsquo;ve been able to take hold of that and build in four and hopefully we can go bigger and stronger at the same time.&rdquo;

Backrower Impressive on Debut

The 2022 Australasian yearling sale season has come to a close with the world-renowned Inglis Easter Sale wrapping up at Riverside Stables this week.&nbsp; Michael Freedman Racing was active across two-days of selling, coming away with seven quality yearlings. Revelling in the heavy conditions under Hugh Bowman, the 4yo daughter of All Too Hard came clear to defeat the Hallowed crown mare Colette by one and a quarter length with Laws Of Indices (IRE), an imported son of Power, a neck back in third.
The winner of the Group 1 ATC Surround Stakes and Group 1 Canterbury Guineas advances her record to eight wins, a second, and five thirds from 22 starts with earnings of $2,026,550.

&ldquo;She is an absolute gem,&rdquo; Michael Freedman said.
&ldquo;Obviously she is relishing these soft tracks but she&rsquo;s not just a wet tracker. When you get these mares in for and they can really string these runs together, it&rsquo;s really satisfying as much as anything.
&ldquo;We discussed before the race that there might be a bit of pressure up front, even though it didn&rsquo;t look so on paper. I think there were a few there that wanted to make sure she didn&rsquo;t get her own way in front.

&ldquo;It probably adds another string to her bow that she can be ridden just off the speed with a view to maybe looking at a Doncaster in two-weeks time with 50 kilos on her back. It was nice to see her be able to take a sit and still have that great turn of foot.&rdquo;
Forbidden Love was purchased for $150,000 by Richard Freedman from the Bhima Stud draft at the 2019 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

A half-sister to the Melbourne winner Kuramae (Foxwedge), Forbidden Love is the second foal of the class More Than Ready (USA) mare Juliet's Princess (USA).
A 5-time winner and stakes-placed in the Listed SAJC Laelia Stakes, Juliet's Princess is out of the unraced Thunder Gulch (USA) mare Malayan Princess.
Bhima Stud offered a yearling half-brother by Epaulette at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale, with Avesta Bloodstock signing the ticket for $100,000.
After missing to All Too Hard in 2020, Juliet's Princess was covered by King&rsquo;s Legacy last spring.
