With over 30 years of experience, Michael Freedman is one of the country's most accomplished trainers. In the late 1980's Michael joined his three older brothers Lee, Anthony and Richard in one of the most successful training partnerships in history when they prepared over 100 Group 1 winners including five Melbourne Cup winners and four consecutive Golden Slipper winners.

An opportunity abroad saw Michael spend almost a decade in Singapore where he would go on to train over 450 winners including the two-time Singapore Horse Of The Year and now sire Super Easy. After a brief stint in Hong Kong, Michael returned to Sydney and established himself at Royal Randwick. Alongside his brother Richard, Michael hit the ground running having prepared Champion 2YO and Golden Slipper winning colt Stay Inside, multiple Group 1 winner Forbidden Love and a host of stakes winners including Queen Of The Ball, Tiger Of Malay, Glistening and Prime Star.

In April 2022, Michael branched out on his own making an immediate impact on the Sydney training ranks. In the first 12 months of his solo training career, Freedman maintained an impressive 20 per cent winning strike rate including multiple wins at metropolitan and stakes level. While Freedman maintains a boutique style training business, he is a frequent at the top level and consistently outperforms his stable size. In just 18 months of training in his own right, Freedman has claimed a top flight G1 Randwick Guineas with Communist, dual stakes success with Queen Of The Ball and stakes victories with fillies Manaal and Mumbai Muse.
